Owners will ensure their dog has up to date vaccinations, and vet approved flea and worming treatments. Bob Martin products or 'off the shelf' bought products will notbe accepted as sufficient treatments and the dog will not be able to join the walks.
All dogs are required to understand basic commands, preferably be able to walk nicely on a loose lead but it is essential your dog possesses a reliable recall response. If your dog fails to have a reliable recall and/or no walking manners, we have the right to refuse your pet or request that trainning commences to reach the required standard before we agree to walk your dog.
Any dog showing signs of kennel cough will not be walked until your vet has confirmed your dog is no longer contagious. If we arrive at your property to find signs of kennel cough but not been informed by you, you will be charged for that walk as if it had taken place.
Owners are to make a full disclosure (on the form provided) of any quality or characteristic which might make your dog unsuitable for walking, including behavioural or health problems, antisocial behaviour including aggression, lack of training, no walking manners and excessive loud barking/whining. We reserve the right to refuse your dog if we feel it unsuitable for any reasonable reason.
Cloud K9 supply their own fully adjustable, well fitted collars and tags (with our details on) and leads for your dog (as well as coats for small-medium dogs). A loose fitting collar or harness is a potential danger. Please ask Lucy for advice if you are unsure of how a collar, harness or muzzle should fit.
All dogs should be comfortable with having their paws handled, being brushed and cleaned as we regularly carry out health checks for any burrs, grass seeds, thorns etc and remove them from their coat and/or pads. In order to keep your dogs paws and pads at their maximum health it is advisable to keep your dogs paws regularly trimmed (if a breed which needs regular grooming/clipping) to keep these hazards to a minimum while helping you to see what you're doing. It will also enable them to grip more easily on shiny floor surfaces.
Failure to comply and/or disclose any of the above important information will be in breach of our agreement. These rules are put in place not only for your dogs’ health and safety, but also for mine and any other insured dog walker working on my behalf.
All efforts will be made to contact the owner in the event of an emergency. We recommend owners provide us with a contact number of a trusted 3rd party should we be unable to make contact. However, we reserve the right to make decisions regarding your dog’s health provided it is at all times acting in the best interests of the dog and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon.
The owner will either ensure that access is given to collect the dog from the agreed address at the agreed times or provide a key to the place where the dog is kept. We will only use the key to collect and return the dog. Your keys will be kept in safe custody, shall not be marked in anyway as to give away the address of your property, they will not be lent or given to anyone not working for 4 Paws 2 Feet not copied, and will be returned to the customer on demand.
In case of staff sickness or other unavoidable circumstances, we will endeavour to provide another walker who has been vetted by us and working under our instructions (this will not be done without your prior consent.)
We will inform you, the owner, of any incident or anything we notice about your dog, which you should be aware of.
We will take care so far as is practical so any dog(s) under our care is not a nuisance or danger to anyone, or other animals, and that no harm comes to it. We supply bags for use on all walks to remove the dog’s faeces and ensure that the dog does not foul any public or private place. Water and drinking bowls are carried with us in hot weather so dogs can stop mid walk for a refreshment as well as after the walk.
We are not required to feed the dog other than organic hypo-allergenic treats unless at the owners request and a suitable resting period has passed before or after exercise and prior arrangements have been made. If your dog is booked in for a walk after being fed a meal, we strongly advise that dogs are fed at least one hour before he is collected for his walk for health reasons. A dog who is exercised immediately before or after a meal without an adequate 'resting period' can develop a twisted gut (bloat) which can be fatal. Larger breeds with deep chests tend to be more at risk, however it does not exclude other breeds. Please inform your friends, you could save a dog's life.
Owner is responsible for payment of any veterinary fees and accepts full liability for any accidents, loss or damage caused by the dog whilst in our care, unless of course in the unlikely event we were negligent. Your dog's walking manners and obedience both on and off the lead are ultimately your responsibility to ensure he remains consistent in understanding and obaying commands when asked. I will assist in maintaining his obedience in my care.
Cancellations: Full rates will be charged for the booked service, unless 24 hours notice has been given for cancellation, or the service is swapped for another day the same week.
Payment of service: Fees are to be paid at time of walk/collection unless paying for a weekly rota, then payment must reach my account at the beginning of each week. Unfortunately, if no payment is received either upon collection of the walk, or via standing order by Monday of each week I will not be able to walk your dog on your allocated days until payment is received but you will still be charged as if the walk had taken place.
